Expanding Armenian-Iranian Collaboration in the Healthcare Industry
At the initiative of the President of the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia, Vahagn Hambardzumyan, an online meeting of the health sector representatives was held on November 11 between the Union’s member enterpreneurs and the heads of 11 innovative organizations of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The representatives of the RA Ministry of Health also participated.
The meeting was organized on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia and the Sepanta Salamat corporation operating in Iran, within the framework of which joint cooperation in the field of high technologies has been carried out for the past three years.
In January 2025, a delegation of heads of 20 innovative and technological companies within "Sepanta Salamat" corporation is planning a visit to Armenia accompanied by a high-ranking official from the Iranian Vice Presidenct to Armenia, aiming to enhance trade relations with Armenian respective companies. The delegation will include technological companies in the field of healthcare, food, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment maintenance, medical supplies and hospital construction.
The Iranian partners aimed to hold a joint online meeting prior to their visit in order to discuss the potential of healthcare companies in RA and to prepare a fruitful collaboration based on their preferences. The Iranian partners showcased the latest technological advancements and extensive scientific and technical capacity of their companies while addressing issues of mutual interest.
An agreement was reached to take practical steps relating both the import and export of medical equipment and medicine with the active involvement and support of RUEA, taking into consideration the great potential of integrated Armenian-Iranian relations in the field of healthcare as well as the advantages and opportunities of Armenia's geographic location․
The Iranian partners conveyed their appreciation to the RUEA President Vahagn Hambardzumyan for setting up the online meeting with the Armenian partners, for constructive discussion and strong commitment to partnership building.

The main purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate the possible application of RSCP practices based on food / agriculture, construction materials and chemical industry, as well as to receive suggestions on partnership opportunities with other interested organizations.
