Meetings and Discussions between ILO Partners and RUEA Staff and Board Members
On October 22-23, the executive body of the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia, headed by President Vahagn Hambardzumyan, hosted Vladimir Churovich, the Senior Specialist for Employers Activities of ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team and Country Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Office. The goal of the ILO expert's visit was to meet with the RUEA staff and Council members, get acquainted with the new policy adopted by the RUEA and discuss current issues and potential solutions.
On October 22, the strategic plan of RUEA for the coming years and the series of actions resulting from it were discussed with the RUEA team members. Presenting the 2024 period from May to the present, Vahagn Hambardzumyan highlighted the efforts made regarding the legislative affairs, strategic and operational management, as well as the development of a member database on the digital platform, and the benefits and opportunities offered to member organizations within the framework of the membership cooperation.
Issues aimed at capacity building and advancing the career prospects of RUEA members were thoroughly considered, hence, new programs and activities will soon be initiated. Nver Sargsyan, the ILO program coordinator, also attended the meeting, providing some clarifications according to the RUEA's role in the new ILO initiative to formalize Armenia's labor market and economy. The first day was wrapped up with a meeting with Henning Seeman, the international project manager of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Business Education Association, with whom the RUEA team discussed about possible international cooperation and support for upcoming initiatives.
On October 23, Vladimir Churovich also had a meeting with the Council members of RUEA to discuss issues related to the Union capacity building and ensuring the effectiveness of management processes. The current progress in the process of strengthening social partnership and dialogue with the RA government was specially emphasized.
The two-day meetings and discussions organized with different working groups were very successful in bringing up issues, outlining their possible solutions and establishing the strategy of the RUEA. By clearly defining the priority directions and programs, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to consistently enhancing bilateral cooperation on a national and international level.

On 5 February, 2021 we had a mini-conference to discuss the pillars around which food security system of Armenia can help develop the other sectors of the economy (we estimated at least 15 such sector linkages with food security).

30-04-2021On 30 April 2021, three RUEA representatives attended a meeting on the progress of the “Resource Saving and Clean Production” (RSCP) component of the “EU for the Environment” program. The main purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate the possible application of RSCP practices based on food / agriculture, construction materials and chemical industry, as well as to receive suggestions on partnership opportunities with other interested organizations.
