President Vahagn Hambardzumyan hosted members of the ILO international delegation
On September 24, 2024, Vahagn Hambardzumyan, President of the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia (RUEA), hosted a delegation from the International Labour Organization (ILO), led by Frédéric Laperre, Head of the ILO's Action Program for Formalization, along with Chief Employment Specialist Kazutoshi Chatani and Nune Hovhannisyan, National Coordinator of the ILO in Armenia.
During the meeting, the guests introduced a new ILO initiative aimed at addressing the issue of informal employment in Armenia. The program focuses on preventing informal employment among the forcibly displaced population from Nagorno-Karabakh and promoting their transition to formal employment. Frédéric Laperre emphasized the crucial importance of tripartite social dialogue among the government, trade unions, and employer organizations for the effective implementation of the program. This meeting also aimed to gather partner perspectives on the challenges at hand.
President Vahagn Hambardzumyan welcomed the ILO initiative, highlighting its role in promoting decent work and social justice. He commended the ILO’s active involvement in responding to the employment crisis faced by the forcibly displaced population from Nagorno-Karabakh.
As the representative of the collective voice of employers, Vahagn Hambardzumyan expressed his readiness to actively participate in the actions outlined in the program, supporting the government of Armenia in developing policies and tools aimed at promoting formal employment and improving the legal framework.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the guests thanked President Hambardzumyan for his proactive suggestions, which will be incorporated into the ILO’s new program package.

30-04-2021On 30 April 2021, three RUEA representatives attended a meeting on the progress of the “Resource Saving and Clean Production” (RSCP) component of the “EU for the Environment” program. The main purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate the possible application of RSCP practices based on food / agriculture, construction materials and chemical industry, as well as to receive suggestions on partnership opportunities with other interested organizations.
