Prospects of Strengthening Armenian-Canadian Cooperation
As part of the partnership between the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia (RUEA) and the International Centre for Development Cooperation with Canada (ICDCC), an online seminar was held on November 20, focusing on "Major Provisions of Legislation and Taxation in International Trade Transactions with Canada."
The seminar was attended by the Union members, organized through the joint initiative of RUEA President Vahagn Hambardzumyan and the Director of the International Center for Development Cooperation with Canada, Vardges Avagyan. It was aimed at helping business entities and entrepreneurs access opportunities of doing business in Canada.
The seminar was conducted by a leading international expert in the field of trade and tax law, Managing Partner of Miller Thomson LLP (Vancouver/Toronto), Daniel Kiselbach. He presented opportunities for establishing Armenian-Canadian partnerships and developing joint ventures and strategic collaborations.
An interactive Q&A session followed the seminar, addressing a number of questions and concerns regarding the complexities of Canadian legislation and taxation on service delivery.
The President of RUEA, Vahagn Hambardzumyan, expressed his gratitude to the speaker for the comprehensive and detailed seminar and proposed setting up the next meeting with interested parties in order to stregthen Armenian-Canadian trade relationship. He emphasized that the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia has significant potential to serve as a bridge between the business communities of both countries, thus fostering the growth of Armenian-Canadian collaboration.

On 5 February, 2021 we had a mini-conference to discuss the pillars around which food security system of Armenia can help develop the other sectors of the economy (we estimated at least 15 such sector linkages with food security).

The trainings were developed in the framework of TEMPUS ARMENQA and INARM projects in accordance with the requirements of the European educational system.

30-04-2021On 30 April 2021, three RUEA representatives attended a meeting on the progress of the “Resource Saving and Clean Production” (RSCP) component of the “EU for the Environment” program. The main purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate the possible application of RSCP practices based on food / agriculture, construction materials and chemical industry, as well as to receive suggestions on partnership opportunities with other interested organizations.
