Strengthening Cooperation between the International Labour Organization and the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia
On September 11, 2024, Vahagn Hambardzumyan, the President of the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia (RUEA), hosted Mikhail Pushkin, Director of the ILO's Technical Support Team for Decent Work in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and Nune Hovhannisyan, National Coordinator of the ILO in Armenia.
During the first official meeting with the newly elected RUEA President and representatives of the newly established executive body, Mikhail Pushkin presented the ILO’s mission, its general and regional structure, vision, and projects, emphasizing the role and importance of Armenia in the implementation of the above.
In response, Vahagn Hambardzumyan outlined the work carried out by the newly elected council and the newly formed executive body of RUEA since May 2024, including works on legislative, strategic, and operational management, educational programs, creation of digital databases, rebranding, and other areas, as well as RUEA’s vision and strategic objectives.
The meeting highlighted the significance of the social partnership between the International Labour Organization, the Government of Armenia, the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia and the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia, which is aimed exclusively at jointly overcoming challenges and strengthening state-building efforts.
Towards the end of the meeting, Mikhail Pushkin and Vahagn Hambardzumyan reaffirmed their commitment to constantly strengthen the cooperation at both national and international levels, clearly outlining the key priorities and main tools for this collaboration.

On 5 February, 2021 we had a mini-conference to discuss the pillars around which food security system of Armenia can help develop the other sectors of the economy (we estimated at least 15 such sector linkages with food security).

30-04-2021On 30 April 2021, three RUEA representatives attended a meeting on the progress of the “Resource Saving and Clean Production” (RSCP) component of the “EU for the Environment” program. The main purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate the possible application of RSCP practices based on food / agriculture, construction materials and chemical industry, as well as to receive suggestions on partnership opportunities with other interested organizations.
