New Opportunities for Displaced Persons from Nagorno-Karabakh Through RUEA’s Entrepreneurial Training Program

The entrepreneurial training courses organized by the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia (RUEA) for individuals forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh are ongoing. The goal of the initiative is to support the economic reintegration of displaced individuals, expand opportunities for self-employment, and foster the development of new business initiatives.

RUEA Executive Director Lilit Adamyan welcomed the participants, emphasizing that the initiative aims not only to equip them with practical knowledge but also to build their confidence in transforming ideas into reality.

The sessions held from June 24 to 28 were led by Soghomon Mirzoyan, President of the Association of Armenian Financiers NGO, PhD in Economics and an expert in finance. The sessions focused on the fundamental principles of business financial management, particularly the structure and significance of financial planning, cost calculation methods, pricing strategies, and tools for determining the break-even point of a business.

The sessions included practical exercises that enabled participants not only to strengthen their knowledge of financial management but also to learn how to use financial tools to reduce risks and enhance business sustainability.

The training was accompanied by interactive discussions, during which participants had the opportunity to present their own business ideas and receive individual consultations and valuable practical recommendations from Soghomon Mirzoyan.

In the upcoming sessions, participants will be introduced to topics such as budget planning, market structure analysis, financing mechanisms (including grant programs and investments), as well as the tax and legal frameworks related to entrepreneurial activity in Armenia.

It should be noted that the program is implemented with the support of the International Labour Organization (ILO) within the framework of the initiative “Building the Capacity of Constituents to Pre-empt the Informalisation of Work and Promote the Transition to Formality in the Context of a Refugee Crisis.”
